QUESTION: What is meant in Hebrews 3 and 4 by "my rest"? Is God promising internal peace to certain people or have I missed the point? ANSWER: The issue of God's rest in Hebrews 3-4 is in one sense a simple question to answer and in another sense, it is quite difficult as the answer inspires subsequent questions. Hi all, Pastor Paul here. One of the questions I have been asked countless times over the years is some version of this: "Why do we read books of the Bible like Leviticus? Isn't all of that obsolete and passé under the New Covenant? Isn't it actually kind of primitive and pre-enlightened?
