Our Beliefs

Our Statement of Faith contains the beliefs and convictions of our congregation. We believe in the following Doctrines:

  • The divine inspiration and inerrancy of the original manuscripts of the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, their absolute supremacy and sufficiency in matters of Faith and Practice.
  • The existence of one living and true God, sustaining the threefold relation of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, the same in essence and equal in attributes.
  • The Lord Jesus Christ who is the second person of the Triune God, the eternal Word and Only Begotten Son; that without any change in His divine Person He became man by miracle of the Virgin Birth thus to continue forever as both true God and true man, one Person with two natures; that as Man He was tempted in all points as we are, yet without sin; that as the perfect Lamb of God He gave Himself in death upon the cross, bearing there the sin of the world and suffering the full penalty of divine wrath in our stead; that He arose from the grave in a glorified body; that as our great High Priest He ascended into Heaven there to appear at the right hand of God as Advocate and Intercessor. He will personally and visibly return to earth in power and in glory. (Matthew 1:18-25; John 1:1,14; 3:16; I Corinthians 15:3-7; Galatians 4:4,5; Philippians 2:6-10; Hebrews 4:14-16; I John 2:1,2; I Timothy 2:5; Acts 1:10,11)
  • The universal and total depravity of mankind.
  • The salvation of individuals is initiated by the conviction of sin by the Holy Spirit who brings that blessed response of repentance and faith in the people of God.
  • The atoning efficacy of Christ: the free justification of believers in Him by His imputed righteousness.
  • The preservation unto eternal life of the Saints.
  • The necessity and efficacy of the influence of the Spirit in regeneration and sanctification The resurrection of the dead, the final judgement of both the just and the unjust: the everlasting happiness of the righteous and the everlasting misery of the wicked.
  • Immersion in water in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, is the only scriptural method of baptism
  • A New Testament Church is a body of baptised believers voluntarily associated together for the service of God.
